Celebrating culture and heritage
The Joyous Chinese Cultural School was founded in 1996 through CCAI to fortify strong birth heritage connections and cultivate a healthy sense of self by providing positive and engaging cultural education for adopted Chinese children and their families. It is a distinctive place for the adoption community to spend time with families who are just as diverse as their own. Our mission at JCCS is three-fold:
- Creating a supportive and culturally conscious learning environment that is empowering for adoptees, families, and the community
- Nurturing a positive sense of self and pride in a cultural identity that is not immediately familiar but forever personal
- Encouraging adoptees and adoptive families to fully embrace and celebrate their multicultural identities
Our goal is to fortify strong birth heritage connections and cultivate a healthy sense of self by providing positive and engaging cultural education for adopted Chinese children and their families. With an approach that is specifically shaped for transnational adoptees and non-native speakers, our courses emphasize cultural exploration and connection. Whether you are simply looking for a fun cultural experience or needing to maintain fluency, Joyous Chinese Cultural School is a great place to start!
Joyous Chinese Cultural School operates all in-person classes and workshops out of our building in Centennial, CO, but also offers online classes, virtual workshops, remote field trip experiences, and summer camps as well!
