Hi! My name is Ann (安) and I’m an adoptee from Yunnan Province, China. I grew up in Montréal with my French-Canadian family but I’ve resided in multiple places since then (Toronto, northern Ontario, and Ottawa). I recently completed my post-secondary studies in Psychology at the University of Ottawa and I work in the mental health sector. I was first introduced to The Park community during the 2022 Beyond Adopteen retreat in Seattle and I felt so welcomed. Having honest discussions with other adoptees raised in the US helped me understand that in so-called Canada, we continue to face a shortage of post-adoption resources led BY adoptees. I am beyond excited to run Canada’s first Adopteen chapter thus creating more opportunities for adoptees to find each other!
During my free time, I like to watch (and analyze) good movies, photograph cool landscapes, learn new things, dance ballet, listen to music, and hang out with my pup and loved ones. Looking forward to connecting and hope to see you soon! 🙂
